For College Freshmen
22 04 2009Communicate with people at home. Set a schedule of emails or phone calls to your family thus you commit to have regular contact. You should not cut your tie off to your family as your family always cares about you.
Commit to a new environment. Your high school friends and family are important, but there are other people around you. You should embrace new friendships and seek them. If not, you will live in your past and will not fully acclimate to new college life.
Pay attention while you are sick. You need to have a digital thermometer with you and employ it to take temperature in case you feel bad. Admit if symptoms of injury or illness persist. You should go to the campus health center if you are not sure you need medical aid.
Your campus is sure to have a dizzying amount of optional activities accessible to you. Select one or more and join it. In such a way, you will make some new friends, fill your free time in a positive manner, and feel connected to a new school. In addition, you should commit to attending various campus programs; attand the basketball or football game, the lecture, the concert . Do it even though you would not naturally gravitate towards these programs. You need to try new things and take part – that is the key.
Select a healthy way of life. A college dining hall is sure to be filled with various great food options. You could select to gorge on ice cream and French fries. Do not eat this! Choose the salad bar instead.
